There's only a couple pieces of software you need in order to play on Time Served.
Go to the FiveM website and click on the big green button to download the FiveM client. Follow the prompts to install.
TokoVoip is a Teamspeak plugin that was created specifically for FiveM roleplaying servers. You can download it from Github. Specifically, you will need the file named
tokovoip_x_x_x.ts3_plugin. Once downloaded, simply double click to run the installer. If you completed the installation successfully, you will see a "TokoVoip" item under the "Plugins" dropdown in Teamspeak. From the Plugins, select TokoVoip and press Connect.
Before playing on any of our servers, you must register with the community. It's also the best way to connect with people and learn about the game.
You must join our Discord server in order to play on any server. Our Discord is also where you can find a moderator or request support. You may or may not get a response to a help request if you're connected to a server, but there's usually someone listening in Discord.
Discord is a requirement because we handle whitelisting our servers through Discord roles. You must have the native desktop client installed, and you must allow FiveM as an authorized application. After that, you must fill out our whitelist application and wait for approval. Once approved, you will receive the
Whitelisted role in our Discord which will allow you to connect to the server.
In rare cases, FiveM may fail to recognize your Discord role. If this happens, uninstall Discord and delete your
C:\Users\<MyUser>\AppData\Local\Discord directory, and then reinstall Discord. The next time you open Discord and FiveM together, you should be prompted to connect the two.
You are expected to familiarize yourself with the rules as soon as possible once you begin playing on the server. "I didn't read the rules" is not a valid excuse.
Open FiveM once it's installed and click on Direct Connect at the top of the screen. Type in
gta.timeservedrp.com and click on the connect button once it appears. This will connect you to our testing server. If you have not been whitelisted through Discord with the appopriate role, you will not be able to play.
The first time you connect, you will see a dialog on the right of your screen with a button prompting you to create a new character. Click the button to begin customizing your character. The default "freemode" models for both male and female offer the widest array of detailed customization and outfits, but many other game models are available. Please note if you are creating a character that must wear a uniform (i.e. a police officer), only the default freemode models may be used.
After selecting your model, you will have the opportunity to use the wardrobe interface for detailed customization. If you can't get everything just right, don't worry: There are other places in the world where you will be able to access the wardrobe interface. However, certain sections may not always be available. You should focus on finalizing the physical aspects of your character's appearance because those are much more difficult to change after finishing the character creation process.
How you start your journey from here is completely up to you, but one easy recommendation for making some early money is to get a (legal) job. However, the entire city (and surrounding county) is open to you. There's plenty of places to explore, things to do, and people to meet. Get out there and make a name for yourself!
